After sitting out Round 3 of the Mid-American Sprint Series in Shawano, WI, the Wheeler Racing Team was anxious to get back out on the track for more racing action.

Round 4 took us to the beautiful Motorplex at Road America in Elkhart Lake, WI.  It was great weather and a great venue for racing.

Saturaday’s racing brought home first place honors for Ashton.  A much needed win for the #7 as it had been a while since being in victory lane.  Even though it was a small field in the LO206 Sportsman division, the racing was still very close and exciting racing between Ashton and the #8 of Payton Glodowski.  After Saturday’s racing had concluded, the boys were treated to some zip lining action that Road America offers on site.

Sunday was another beautiful day for racing.  Sun, 80 degree temps, and ZERO HUMIDITY!  Sunday also brought with it some of the BEST racing we have seen all season.  With the Wheeler Racing # 7 and the #8 of Glodowski having almost identical setups, both Greg Glodowski and I knew it was going to have to come down to driver confidence and skill to determine a race winner.  After qualifying on the pole, Ashton held off Payton for the win but it couldn’t be closer than it was.  In the final, Ashton got out to an early lead, but the #8 was right there knocking on his door waiting for the right time to make a pass and Payton did so in the Island turn at about the halfway point of the race.  Ashton fought hard to try to re-claim the #1 spot, but Glodowski fought just as hard to keep Ashton from getting around him.  The two karts and two drivers were so evenly matched, that only 1 to 2 one-hundredths of a second were the difference in lap times separated the two.  Payton Glodowski got the win, with Ashton bringing home second, Tanner Demaster 3rd, and Emily Demaster 4th.

A special thanks goes out to the Glodowski’s for the hospitality and allowing us to pit with them.  We had a great time (as usual) and look forward to many more races in future with you guys.

Great job kids!!!!!
